The Belgic Confession reminds us that nothing happens outside of God's arrangement, giving us unspeakable comfort and strength. This knowledge tells us that even in the darkest of times, God is working out His good plan for our lives, despite the fallen world we live in. But why do bad things happen to good people? The answer lies in our rebellion against God. As a result, our world has lost its original goodness and is now prone to evil and destruction. The devils and evil spirits are always seeking to destroy and spoil everything by their deceptions, and we must be mindful of this reality.

As Christians, it's easy to get caught up in the idea that we can control our circumstances or that things will magically work out if we just have enough faith. But the confessions remind us that sin has spread through the whole human race, corrupting all of our nature. We are guilty and subject to physical and spiritual death because of Adam's disobedience.

So what does this mean for our lives? It means that difficult times will come, both personally and collectively as a church. But it also means that we can find comfort in knowing that God is working everything out according to His plan, even when we don't understand what's happening. Our trust in Him is the source of our strength, and it gives us the courage to face whatever challenges come our way.

As Whitney Houston sang, 'I hasten to his throne.' We can find solace in knowing that God is always available to us, waiting for us to turn to Him in times of need. And when we do, He will meet us with His loving care and guidance, giving us the comfort and strength we need to face whatever lies ahead.
